Here We Are
Liner Notes
David Graham (@mctown) has asked me to find the music for his dark compelling words. I worked it out, but I never realized I could sing this low. And... I may've overdone it with the reverb, but it made it more sinister...IMHO #collab #dark #electric #bluesy
Lyrics
You slit the throat of tomorrow Buried in a crock pot in the yard I checked your eyes for sorrow But I don’t even know who you are
Did you walk the dream to the meadow Did you stick that dream in a hole Did you dance in the moonlight or stare at the stars I didn’t see this coming, but… HERE WE ARE HERE WE ARE, HERE WE ARE, HERE WE ARE
You cast a stone at the sinner Followed it with a knife to the heart You own your lie, beginner Cause I’ve known your truth from the start
Did you walk the dream to the meadow Did you stick that dream in a hole Did you dance in the moonlight or stare at the stars I didn’t see this coming, but… HERE WE ARE HERE WE ARE, HERE WE ARE, HERE WE ARE
You suck out realness of the moment Lay me out on the bed of despair You think that you got the hold card I don’t deal with demons…so why should I care
Did you walk the dream to the meadow Did you stick that dream in a hole Did you dance in the moonlight or stare at the stars I didn’t see this coming, but… HERE WE ARE HERE WE ARE, HERE WE ARE, HERE WE ARE
HERE WE ARE HERE WE ARE, HERE WE ARE, HERE WE ARE

Wow, nice
I love that guitar in between the verses! Cool moody music suits the lyrics so well and really creates a mood. Not too much reverb at all!
Thanks!
Wow what an opening image! This is awesome, really channelling the Leonard cohen/nick cave vibes - and that brighter soaring guitar coming in over the deep dark stuff is great. Awesome collab
Thank you.
This has that intense, spartan feel like that Cash cover of "Hurt", absolutely love it. The words have got that Nick Cave-y murder-ballad kind of vibe too, very enjoyable. I love the character's resignation to their fate! The music really suits the words - love the curls of slide and the doomful, stompy drums. This feels really successful.
