Lonely Black Jack
by @mattpierce
Lyrics
Hey Black Jack Ya better step back the red queens at your door I heard her tell her sister that's she's missing her mister and the red kings out with his whore
Hey Black Jack Ya better step back the red queens at your door she's gonna plant the seed that a woman has needs and now she's coming back for more
Chorus: Do ya show your hand and take a risk and try to stay in the game when the wager was just a little kiss and now its starting rain
Hey Black Jack Ya shouldn't say that cause the jokers keeping the score he's got pictures and stuff of both of you in the buff and his readers are screaming for more
Hey black Jack ya better watch your back because the people will show you no pity when you try to stay low, they'll always know they're like that in the big city
Chorus:
Instead Black Jack stepped out the back to escape to another shore He said he wouldn't mislead and wanted to be free of being a prisoner in her war
So now Black Jack lives in a shack Just behind the sycamore he sits alone at night and wonders if its right leaving that red queen at his door
As the days go by no one knows he exists yet he still feels the pain he looks in the mirror the older he looks he's got noone else to blame
Sweepy guitar

I like this card game metaphor. That's cool. I like the vibe too. Slide guitar? Yes, please. And your voice is really sounding smooth. Did I hear a tiny touch of delay on it? I'm at work and can't listen too loud, but I the effects sound nice and really tasteful.
Really clever song. You pull me right in with your delivery. Love the story telling and your vocal delivery and guitar playing is exceptional. Kind of reminds me of “Tin Angel” by Bob Dylan. Similar kind of unfolding of the song. But way better vocals. This is a really good one. Glad I got to hear it!
