Got Me (twice)
by @sparrow51
Liner Notes
My song resurfaces a half century later.
Lyrics
See that relic firewood stove Not seen fire in years of cold Keeps me like it kept my friends warm Lets me dream as I get old
You might tell me I could move away Stop the things that help me feel When you won't move for fear of breaking things Things that people want to steal?
You can't hear my simple moan The sound that I make to hear a sound All you touch is your happiness Or what some might call - a runaround
How could you hope to bring me joy With 20 friends at 40 grand? Maybe you thought you could reminisce To fill in holes in your new plan?
Maybe you'll take a trip to Mexico You'll find a stash to keep you out But please don't talk to me 'til afterwards When the whispers slice through the shouts

really liked the chordal change on "me I could move away" - the song is giving me a moody blues "nights in white satin" feel (which is a song I love) . I think I need to bookmark this one so I can hear it myself later on. The lyrics dont make much sense to me, but the song pulls me in and I think I will enjoy figuring them out on future listens
That second stanza hit me hardest — I like how you’ve challenged the listener by posing a question there. And I love how the melody lifted into “oohs” there, too. Very nicely done!
