the lost signal

Liner Notes

opening this month's album, dial tone, with this ambient, atmospheric track– a moment suspended between reaching out and being left on the line.

it establishes the album’s emotional landscape: missed calls, fading connections, static where a voice should be.

each song that follows feels like dialing again and again, hoping someone’s still there, hoping the line hasn’t gone dead. from there, the album unfolds like a series of attempts to reconnect: voicemails, echoes, unanswered rings, and the quiet hope that someone is still listening on the other end.

this record lives in that space between connection and silence, between what was said and what never made it through.

welcome to the world of dial tone.

Hauntingly beautiful music. Your liner notes are spot on. Brilliant tags. Your music is atmospheric and it takes the listener someone to the space or other worlds. Silence meets the unknown, sadness meets hope. Waiting for questions being resolved.

all so dreamy and ethereal - vocals are lush, sounds like a multi-layer comfort blanket

aw beautiful imagery, thank you for listening!

This could be the opening scene music in a movie. It’s giving large lush landscapes. Great job!

thank you!

Well this is just gorgeous. Love your vocal tone and your harmony choices. Beautiful how they ebb and flow in that big old ehoey space. Props too for your synth textures - nothing egregious, nothing superfluous, everything perfectly placed. And I love the concept and title too. I need to hear more!

i so appreciate your kind review and feedback, i feel really seen in it! thank you! more to come :))

Really beautiful soundscape. Love your voice. The harmonies are so well done, in and out of dissonance.

[pic]

thank you so much!

I like the idea of such an album. This opening track is perfect for it. Dreamy, Brings a David Lynch kinda feeling to me. Wondering what will happen next. I love it.

[pic]

thank you so much! i appreciate that!

[pic]

this is so prettyyyyy I love the harmonies. It's very reminiscent of the Hollowknight soundtrack. This has inspired me to mess around with some cool dissonance now

[pic]

ooh thank you, i'd be curious to hear yours!

I like the layered resonances. The opening static resolves into a running-water sounds as the piece progresses. Whether this was intended or just how my computer processes it, it adds a natural element. My ear was happy and intrigued to listen carefully. Enjoyable!

thank you so much!

Really evocative! The vocals have a haunting quality, and the little harmonic flourishes are really neat. It feels very personal and vulnerable; reading those liner notes, I'd say you pretty much nailed what you were going for.

[pic]

thanks this is a really kind review! :)

Stunning. Absolutely love the melody, harmony and the vocal arrangement. It's like hearing someone singing lush piano chords covering the entire tonal range. Would love to know more about your approach to production and how you are producing these magnificent tones. Look forward to hearing more.

thank you so much! it's about 20 vocal tracks layered with lots of reverb over a few synth and keyboards. i kind of go in "blind" to harmonies - feel out whatever organically comes from the call of the main vocal line and then whatever response feels natural, build from there. i'm a big fan of harmonies that have texture and dissonance and don't make a perfect major chord. thanks for listening, i'm excited to share more! let me know if you have any more questions and feel free to reach out via my contact info on my page :)

Impressive. Thanks for your thoughtful reply. Encourages me to do some experimentation on my own.

What a cool idea! This is lovely to listen to on a loop...

I can hear the unresolved, expectant mood very clearly. Whatever plays after this will feel like it had this track as an intro.

thank you so much for the kind words! i'm glad i was intentional in making this the opening track to an album i'm working on from songs made this month. thanks for listening!
