My Gin, Chocolate & Bottle Rockets bandmates (Jen Farley, Shawndell Marks) and I do these song workshops with various groups where we write a song in a short period of time based around a theme (e.g. a conference or retreat theme). We've done these workshops with a variety of different groups, but yesterday we got together with eight Girls Scouts (ages 8 & 9) so they could get their music badges and have some fun! We wrote about the values that Girl Scouts try to live by. Here's the song we wrote together in 2 hours. Nothing like a group of kids to reignite the FUN in songwriting.

Awww…so frickin’ sweet! I miss when my kids were this age. They’ve grown into their own and are doing so good! I just wish we had had more moments like this…

Oh, this is wonderful! It gives me hope for the future generation. What a wonderful set of life goals to have. Yes, let's all be happy, kind and hungry to learn. Fantastic lyrics with a clear and very positive message. Your melody is very catchy too, and I love your singing. So well done! You all truly deserve those Girl Scout music badges, because this is a great song and you all should feel very proud of yourselves. I love this song so much I had to listen to it twice.
