She's So Goth (Translucent)

Got these lyrics from @cblack. They took me to record in the Sea Garden by a tree with some ravens and lunch break ukulele. I guess after a song has formed as an idea its realization is often a mysterious process and its manifestation often surprises its "creators". just a thought
cblack would like to add:

That is all.
Lyrics
She's So Goth (Translucent)
Her birth name was Petal It never suited her well So she changed it in age To "Dark Power Blood Mage". When her parents found out "It's just a phase!" they'd shout "What a stupid name for heaven's sake Now do the dishes, grab the rake."
But Dark Power refused to tow the line "You're no parents of mine!"
Spiderwebs and rotten eggs The moon above, sun never comes Black clothes, black lips Black nails, black toes She's so goth she's translucent
After school she had a job Her boss was such a slob His restaurant always had health violations And Blood Mage was tempted to castrations. So many judgy customers "They'd look better in a hearse." Her boss heard her say that she got fired, poor baby bat.
[Chorus]
No money for big stompy boots No dye to cover her roots.
[Chorus]
Fast forward twenty years or so Still crying, "What does the world know? It wasn't a phase! Night's better than days!"
[Chorus]

Love this. The bouncy ukulele groove is a great contrast to the darkly funny, super visual lyrics. “Dark Power Blood Mage” is such a brilliant character, and the whole thing has a cool mid-60s energy with your own playful twist. Catchy and inspired.
Read the words first - what a cool, darkly funny, visual tale! Now on to the music - what a groove! Exuberantly strummed and sung. Inspired collab!
Cheers!
...great collaboration - catchy presentation over those great lyrics - well done!...
Cheers. :)
the last time i heard anything even close to this was Dylan in '66. Love watching the video of you playing and singing in the sea garden. those crazy, wonderful lyrics must have tickled your inspiration well.
"Crazy and wonderful"? That's me! 😛
Modern Bob Dylan. I hope that paper hold the lyrics. 😊. Anyway cool song and story.
Yes! Also I love that you dropped this casually outside on your lunch break; baller move.
This is cool , sounds like you were having fun! your uke style always amazes me - its very unique. A really good set of lyrics and i mean really good (shes translucent is in my head) - this is one of those extraordinary things a random collab can throw up ! kudos
Thanks! I'm quite pleased with those lyrics, and lowhum knocked it out of the park.
“Lunch break ukelele” could be its own song! Haha at so goth she’s translucent…I can’t claim to have ever been goth but there was a time I didn’t get much sun and my boss told me one day when I was wearing a skirt that my legs matched the brilliant white tile. Anyway, you look like you’re having the grandest lunch break performing this most fun set of lyrics!
