Mordred's Curse

#Mordred and #Arthur at the end of #Camelot. And me, almost at the end of my Arthurian album!

Lyrics

The son must kill the father, That’s the way of pagan kings, And pagan blood flows in my veins, And in my ears, it rings, Fate has set me on this path, And from it I’ll not sway, Camelot and Arthur’s doom, Is what I bring today.

Margawse she was my mother, You used her like a mare, To lie with your own sister, For the law you have no care, I’ve harboured all my anger, I’ve harboured all my rage, Guided by my grandmother, To smash your gilded cage,

Camelot was built on lies, Built on Merlin's guile, The treachery and violence, Both arrogant and vile, So I’ll become the villain, I’ll become the scourge, To cleans these horrors from the land, And bring a flaming purge,

And even as your spear thrusts through, I’ll see it in your eyes, That you have lost the will to live, And hope within you dies, Your castles and your questing, All shall come to naught, I come to repay you, The evil you bought.

Campfires, soliders laughing and drinking, drumming and singing. Medrawd enters the scene, determinedly walks through the groups. Deep atonal bass hums, building in volume. Nobody notices the weapon he carries, or the grim look on his face. He spies Arthur atop the stone wall. His eyes flash with white-hot anger. A high-pitched whining sets in, like a tinnitus, drowning out all other noise. Medrawd grabs his spear. We notice these are the last seconds of our favorite TV series. We accompanied him on his desperate path and can understand every single dark turn he took. The music builds. The spear flies. "Camelot and Arthur's doom / Is what I bring today" ring out with a thundering echo. Fade to black.

Thanks for this Kopfkino. Fantastic lyrics, fantastic rendition.

Camelot as a gritty reality TV crime drama would be great!

this is fantastic - love the vocals and the bodhran

This is really cool. I like the style of singing and also the drums with it. Transported into ancient times sitting around a fireplace and listening to stories.

A dramatic ending! Well written concise storytelling all wrapped up in great sounding harmonies.
