This morning the Gary Wright tune "Love is Alive" flew into my head for some odd reason. I've always loved that song, so I thought it'd be fun to use it as inspiration. I decided to forego all the synth solos and instrumentals in the original and keep mine short and sweet. But I did include a little jam at the top.

I played variations of a verse riff until I came up with something I liked. Once I had that, the chorus came out super simple.

I had fun creating a drum bus that's ultra compressed. Makes the drums super loud and in your face.

Lyrically the first two lines came to me and I said okay, if that's what we're doing then I won't argue. I looked at a lot of Prince lyrics to see how the master tackled it. Then on the chorus it shifted to something else. I thought about "The Rose" and used that as inspiration.

Couldn't really think of a clever title, so I went with "Love Is The Sun." #rock #jam #vocals #guitar #keyboards
