Well, this is my first humor song of the year. My wife and I have a joke about conquering "Mount Laundry", when the laundry grows above the top of the laundry basket. So, here's a song about it.

I thought about adding more vocal tracks o this, but it’s tired and I’m late.

We’re building our own mountain, one layer at a time A giant growing mountain, that we will never climb The worn things we cast off we heap up in a pile And one day we will conquer it, after a while

It’s Mount Laundry!  The highest peak in the house!
It’s Mount Laundry!  The place you toss your blouse!
It’s Mount Laundry!  A pile of jeans and tops!
It’s Mount Laundry!  Throw on more dirty socks!

Started with an empty basket, it seems just yesterday We toss a thing or two in, as we sleep and work and play It seems it fills up to the top, nearly instantly There’s still more left in the dresser drawer, so it doesn’t bother me

We pull out our clean clothes each and every day I might re-wear that shirt again, the smell test is okay There are plenty more clean towels for the kitchen and shower Let’s change them out and throw some more up upon our tower

Now it’s getting a little desperate, I’m running out of shorts (yeah, that kind) This pair doesn’t really fit, but I’ll run it through the course The pile is getting so tall now, that it’s way above my head It might become an avalanche if we add single thread

Well finally the day has come, we can’t go any more We’ll use the ropes and climbing gear to bring it to the floor Separate the the shirts and jeans, dark colors and light It looks like only sixteen loads, before we’re through the night

And we’ll conquer it we know Two dryer sheets in every load Less hangers than we thought we had But the empty basket makes us glad
