The first one is always a challenge for me. I started late but better late then never. I think I could tighten up the vocal performance, but I haven't rapped since last February, so I'm going to give myself a break and move on.
Lyrics
Shit is mindblowing, how’d we get here? Think we’re free yet? Cultivate fear It’s distraction on distraction, counter outrage like transactions It’s in plain sight but we look away Prices keep rising and we all pay That will never happen, what we used to say What we knew as fact is just washed away hard pill whether spit or swallow tough time whether fight or follow When the time comes, show your true colours Piece of shit today, piece of shit tomorrow It’s a long way from them sunny days It’s your civil war and your word play Now it’s rubber bullets and it’s pepper spray Where I saw Blackstar and RTJ It’s some wacky shit, doesn’t seem real There’s no positives, no relief to feel It’s a beatdown as they roll through It’s that all of them VS that one of you It’s that “I was scared”, it’s that “fuck you” It’s that “Here they come!”, it’s that hot pursuit On the wrong day they approach you It’s that “you’re resisting”, it’s that “fuck it, shoot!” On a cold day in a cold world On a streetcorner where it unfurled It’s that old school with no follow through it's that you’re not in, no regard for you There’s no coming back, there’s no happy ending There’s no fresh start, there’s no new beginning When the time comes show your true colours Piece of shit today, piece of shit tomorrow

Over and over My brain keeps spinning it over and over It fills up and it spills over You’re fucked up but you’re stone sober We’re here today, gone tomorrow You can live in peace, or you can drown in sorrow Now it’s time for work so just bend over It’s a cold dick but a hot shoulder It’s a hot topic, a smoking barrel It’s a sneak preview, it’s the presale Try to push the limit, find the line Throw a Hail Mary, cognitive decline It’s intentional, chaos by design As we drill down on the bottom line And their bottom line, and their bottom line And their bottom line, and your bottom line That’s a lot of pages, that’s a lot of dirt That’s a lot of people, that’s a lot of hurt Launching giant balls from a glass house Just a few yards from the clubhouse It’s about money, it’s about control It’s about power, it’s the starring role It’s a long way to the top But these people are not the type that wanna rock and roll It’s the sad truth, it’s the bait and switch It’s that knee jerk, it’s that trigger itch It’s that same story on a different day It’s that home run off a foul pitch It’s that home pitch of that foul play Goes to show we will never learn It’s that instinct of a predator It’s that tear ‘em down, it’s that let ‘em burn

massive. incredible flow and lyrics, i was first listening without lyrics so i had a couple "oOUUmffh" moments on particular lines. very good beat also. legend shi
Great flow - I love how you link the phrasing between the lines and draw comparisons. Very nice how you keep switching the rhyme pattern up too, especially enjoyed some of near rhymes too (you/pursuit).
The glide bass sounds so cool on top of that guitar line. You’re such a dope lyricist. I’m trying to do a cypher with you and my buddy @dustintroothward this month btw…so ya… The remember this remember that effected bit is soooo cool. I love when you get angry and the punk rock bleeds into your hiphop. This beat is wild and I love it. So dope dude
That opening guitar lick is mean af! I think your vocal delivery is on point. No rust detected. "Piece of shit today, piece of shit tomorrow" is a killer ass line. This is a banger, I loved it!
I'm going to be having "remember this, remember that" play on loop, that's a real catchy phrase/rhythm. I like the ominous sounding backdrop to the spoken word delivery. It works really well with the intensity of the lyrics.
From the very first seconds, the dark atmosphere got me! Very happy to see that you're definitely not rusty! The beat is very cool with these organic elements, and the flow is incredible as usual! I'm still a fan!
