The Beach

#acousticonetake #phone Really hoping this will work. I'm in Scotland without my laptop/microphone etc so a bit quiet over the past couple of days. Today I borrowed my nephew's acoustic guitar and recorded direct to my phone. Then I had to find an app to convert the m4a to mp3 then... well, you get the idea
Lyrics
Sand washed up upon the promenade Evidence of last night's storm Tide is out now, horses racing Tracing the path of destruction past
Dogs and walkers on the beach Facing the biting winter wind Grey skies overhead are pressing The thought of summer out of reach
And tankers idle in the bay Waiting for the price to rise Their hulking shapes a distant sight Ominous in the dead of night
Seagulls flying high above Their laughing cries are muted Wafting on the currents Adjusting their wings to the sky

😍 lovely! The phone tones give it a pleasant background mood. Beautiful melody. Well done for not letting life getting in the way of making music! The clunk at the end is the cherry on top! Fantastic 'field' recording! J$
This definitely gives gray sandy beach vibes! I like the line "adjusting their wings to the sky". Usually one thinks about birds flying in the sky, yes, but more oriented "above the ground." I like thinking about them with the sky as reference point, it's a poetic turn.
I can imagine the bleak chilly northern beaches from the tone of your music and lyrics. Scotland is on my bucketlist, but I think it will be a summer visit!
Beautiful melancholy feel.
