Lyrics

Didn't want to hurt you Didn't want to cause you pain Silence is no virtue But I don't know how to explain

For all I want to be For all I said I'd be For all I failed to be for you

Don't know how to say it I don't want to live this lie I know I must claim it But I cannot tell you why

For all I want to be For all I said I'd be For all I failed to be for you

Lying shattered in the wreckage That no-one can see There is nothing but ruin Looking back at me

For all I want to be For all I said I'd be For all I failed to be I promised I wouldn't break That's why it hurts to say... That's why it hurts to say... That's why it hurts to say I lied

Dayum, T.C. Why are you here at FAWM teasing us when you should be in Nashville? This is a profoundly wonderful song! I have loved a lot of your past work. And loved Sittin' in the Rain enough to beg to cover it (and I still listen to that cover!) But this may be my new T.C. favorite of all time! The sad message in your lyrics reaches deep into my heart or maybe that's my soul! That chorus is killer! Perfect. More than perfect! Ready to be spread and heard and enjoyed! I didn't just hear that chorus. Every time...I felt it. And how you finished each time with "for you" was just stellar! Your vocals are in their finest form! Strong and sincere. Those Firefly Acoustic guitars just sound amazing! This really is a great new song! Congratulations on something so dang good!

Thank you, John. Your words mean a lot to me. Looks like we are both hitting the feels this year.

I came here wanting 6/8 and I wasn't disappointed. That guitar tone is delightful. I like how restrained the instrumentation is, and how gradually it builds; it lets the emotion in your voice take center stage. The bridge is a nice change but oh! The way it turns back around into the chorus, that's really tasty. There's something about this that makes me think of something I would hear in the 90s, though I can't say exactly what. This is a nice one, TC.

I respect the vulnerability and how you admit to a horrible mistake. We all have made them. The song sounds great and you executed it powerfully..

Voice is so POWERFUL. You've got pipes, dude. Excellent, subtle instrumentation choices.

I have really enjoyed every song you've put out so far! This is beautifully done, and your guitar sounds just fantastic! Your lyrics convey such deep emotion that your vocal delivery mirrors so well! This reminds me a bit of REM :)

Hey TC. You're awesome. Sounds like a somber moment in time. Super well written as always.
