Worry Worry Worry

Liner Notes
Well, I got my first song done. As mentioned in my bio, I've really enjoyed the old gospel blues stuff, and I wanted to write something in that vein. So, here it is... first song of the year.
Lyrics
When I was a young man, the devil call to me When I was a young man, the devil call to me When I was a young man, the devil call to me, And make me worry, worry, worry all the more
Then I heard the preacher he did say to me Then I heard the preacher he did say to me Then I heard the preacher he did say to me Don’t need to worry, worry, worry ever more
Went down to the water and set my spirit free Went down to the water and set my spirit free Went down to the water and set my spirit free Now I don’t worry, worry, worry never more
Now When that de-vil calling, I don’t give him heed When that de-vil come talkin', I don’t give him heed When that de-vil come callin', I don’t give him heed That make him worry, worry, worry forever more

Love it! There is something refreshing in the lyrical simplicity and repetition to me. I love finding those clever and profound lyrics but I think there has been a tendency in a lot of songwriting to be too much about a punch line so to speak.
Classic old Gospel blues tune -- If I didn't know you had written it, I would have been sure this is an oldie. Great work.
Thanks for the listen and that comment… it makes me feel like I hit my mark. :-)
Ohhhh, yes sir! I like them old gospel vibes. Good swinging rhythm. Love it! I just need to hear your vocal a little more, but I was singing along by the middle of it, so that made up for it. 😀
LET’S GO!! This is probably my favorite song you’ve written. Everything about it- the feel, the instruments, the story, the vocal, the solo, and the mix.
It’s a really slow story progression with the three identical lines to start the verses. Maybe make it two identical lines and bump the tempo a bit? Nice vocals btw 😀
Yeah! This is such a classic gospel blues feel! Really well done on all fronts!
Great work!
