Not Enough Snow for a Snowman

Lyrics

The weather's been abnormal lately it's been unseasonably warm To hot so we have to be stately Avoiding the odd thunderstorm

But now that it's just past December I'm just looking into the shed I'm trying for now to remember just where I was storing my shed

It used to snow here in the winter There used to be cold rain and sleet The icicles they used to splinter When run over by children's feet

And though the grey days are so suinless It seems that it's ever so strange There's no explanation but unless They say that it's all climate change There's not enough snow for a snowman No ice here for cooling a drink The sun nearly gives you a spray-tan Theres nothing to fill up a rink

No sign of those white flakes to cover The worlde in a blanket of snow Maybe the world still will recover Perhaps but I really don't know

This is lovely and bittersweet. Delivered beautifully.

I enjoyed listening to this a lot! Your voice and ukulele sound so good together. What a beautifully descriptive way to turn this abnormal weather into music, and what creative use of the prompt.

Very enjoyable performance. Love the uke and your voice is classic. Cheers

I love the feel of this! Very 1920's/30's (and earlier) standards feel. Really cool!

Lovely uke and vocals, a great skirmish entry. Yes, the weather's been abnormal! Just when we were getting to mild winters in New England, we're getting socked this year with brutal cold for weeks, and more snow already this year than most of the past five seasons. Good for the skiers, I guess. Meanwhile, today I'm out in Colorado where there are usually snow peaks on the Rockies from November to May, and Bear Mountain near Boulder is, well, bare! And it's 62 F (17 C) outside. Maybe we'll recover - who knows?
