Love is the Salvation

Skirmish: Salvation (@deandra)Liner Notes
I think it's pretty obvious this has to be a gospel song...
Like my previous skirmish song, a drinking song, I see this one as "extendable", there is probably not yet a definitive set of verses, just make up more as you go along!
Lyrics
Get on up!
People let me tell you how it's gonna be Love is the key to set you free
Chorus: I said get up on your feet Wave your arms in your air Look around people Love is everywhere
Put down your hatred and put down your lies Just look each other staight in the eyes
(Chorus)
You wanna be saved from the wages of sin Shake your brother's hand Shake your sister's hand Shake your neighbour's hand Then do it again!
(Chorus)
Do you want to live by the golden rule? Just help each other and don't be a fool
(Chorus)
Outro:
That's what I mean... You know what to do... Stop bein' a fool... Look in your heart... Play your part...
Yeah!

Yeah, ok, go for it. I like this one a lot, but I wasn't sure how to actually record it. The others I can manage.
Looking good. Lokk forward to hearing it.
I can hear this moving right along as an uptempo song. Certainly could be a gospel piece. Everybody wavin' their hands in the air. Good write.
Those are definitely Gospel lyrics I agree. I can picture the choir singing them. This feels very complete and defined for a skirmish song - a lot achieved in the time. :-)
Thanks, traditionally I write longer story telling style lyrics so it's interesting and liberating to just think of a song like this. It's like I can see this gospel choir performing and I'm just writing down.
Love it! "Just help each other and don't be a fool!" Words to live by, for sure (and a badly needed reminder, these days). Great work!
Sometimes the simplest rules are the hardest to live by. Glad you like it.
It could very easily be a church revival song! I hear it.
It practically plays itself! But I'm going to try to help it along a little 😉
Thank you for taking part in my skirmish. I loved, loved, loved this. Love the positive vibe and attitude! I'm "hearing" it, even without the music.
Yeah, so am I!
I'm picturing the big, wide gospel harmonies on this all the way! A good, straight-ahead take on the prompt. Very nice!
Thanks, now all I need is a gospel choir for my demo 😆
Not sure if you are looking for collaborations but, I would be delighted to take a whack at this one or your "Howdy Stranger". Let me know
