Prompt given by @rinwolf was "Surround" - thanks for the inspiration! I somehow immediately thought of waters surrounding me - dark, piratey waters. When I wrote down the first words, I realized this would be a perfect match for a sound snippet I had started the other day, and it all came together really quickly.

Disclaimer: SynthV vocals, Liam. I sang it myself, but it sounded more like a plushy than a pirate - maybe another day.

Cool pirate feel to this one, very descriptive lyrics, and the melody is catchy and would sing well on the deck!

"sounded more like a plushie than a pirate" lol I like the soundscape; it sounds like the sirens of sea and the storm. My fave is the melodica/accordion (?) solo. That was a nice mournful touch!

I'm so happy to hear Liam! When I upgraded to SynthV2, this was the complementary voice I chose. Unique male voices are in too short of supply so I had to seize that opportunity. I'm also very jazzed about the pirate theme. I'm still not out of my Pirate Yakuza In Hawaii honeymoon phase and all my friends are JRWI nuts.

Just one note though: Liam is a voicebank for SynthesizerV that does use artificial intelligence for tuning and cross-language synthesis, but he's not a typical "AI Generated" voice like one for Diff-SVC, RVC, or SOVITS. This voice is programmable much like any other virtual instrument in any DAW, but I'd advise you specify that neither him nor other SynthV voices are purely generative AI. They just aren't, lol. Sorry, 16 years of Vocaloid/UTAU/SynthV usage talking. For FAWMers that aren't familiar with vocalsynth I just think that should be noted since the majority of users aren't as dialed in as us ^^"

This is a use of AI that really intrigues me; the result is truly convincing. I really like the atmosphere of this song; the #pirate made me click on it.

Interesting use of AI that I had never heard of before. The voice fits the lyrics, and I feel the water "surround" their tragic souls. A real pirate tragedy, pointedly short.
