Sky Light

There is no demo for this song.

Liner Notes

#needscollab It just arrived as I was looking out the window at dusk, a description of what I saw.

Not sure all the "bits" work in V II.

Lyrics

Sky light

V I A thin ribbon of pink through the empty crowns Leaves long fallen to the ground Gradated to the horizon line The fractal fingers reaching for the sky

C I see spring in the light Night after night A little bit later A little bit lighter

V II And the cold stretch cracks Melt from the surfaces black And spring will be back In a bit, in a bit

Just a bit more of winter As I get a bit older The season grow a bit shorter The winter grows a bit colder

C I see spring in the light Night after night A little bit later A little bit lighter

V III Still dark in the wood But light over head Cool evening slumber The world isn’t dead Don’t count the number Of days til the spring

Outro Look up at the sky The Longer light that it brings

And… and… look past the window Evening’s nigh Look past the screen And up to the sky

Beautiful, poetic and inspiring lyrics ✨️

I'm hoping for spring too! So tired of the super-cold winter we're having. You are very good at describing what you saw out of the window and turning it into a song lyric.

“I see spring in the light Night after night A little bit later A little MORE LIGHT (??)” Does that sing better?

Besides that, the rest is a great ode to the coming spring. It would be interesting if someone picked it up and added a melody and voice to it. Thanks for sharing.

A very poetic look at the seasons. Some exquisite language. I like the images you paint. I can feel the passage of time. Nice write.

I really like this lyric structurally. I can see it!

I love the sense of change and positivity here. I already can't wait for Spring! That first verse has some killer lines - the fractal fingers and thin ribbons of pink are amazingly evocative. What a lovely write!
