And though I’d never met you before It felt like I’d known you for years The fates had delivered you to my door A soothing balm for all my fears

You said your car had broken down And you were far from your home town Could you just use my telephone? By now the storm was full blown

I never questioned intentions I suspected no guile You had no pretensions And stuck around for a while

I wonder what you are doing now I wish I’d found out more about you I’d get in touch but I don’t know how And of course I’d love to see you too
