#SteelyDan #DonaldFagen I wanted to use 3 interlocking guitar and getting the harmony vocals right was...difficult. No autotune/melodyne. The intro/bridge is a series of minor chords descending by half step. Getting out of my functional/modal harmony head and going for pure sonic whateverness. Lily Rose Depp says (in French) "There are eels under the rocks" which is like "There is something fishy here" I'm pretty damn happy with the lyrics, which is rare. I love love love the double verse and the stuff at the very end.
