intro
Liner Notes
I'm working on an album that is almost finished, one of the missing pieces is a short "intro" track that sort of sets a mood before the rest of the songs kick in. Maybe something like this.

mix of chunky and spacey sounds goo to me! Yep, this is all about swirling guitars. thanks!
What a way to start a project. I couldn't quiet pin down where it was going until those drums dropped in, and away we went. Excellent work, those heavy guitar lines are so sick.
Replied to the wrong comment first, but thanks, good to hear!:)
Very nice - there's a seething, rolling unpredictability like this - ocean waves, Bob, ocean waves. Lovely playing - and there's just a really nice assured purposefulness to it. I see that it could slot in very nicely as a "setting out the stall" kind of track on an album. Great.
"Setting out the stall" - that's a great phrase! An perfectly in line with the tracks intentions I think. Also seething and unpredictable, and purposeful, thanks for putting words on what I'm after!
Oh whoa, when those guitars lock in there it's magic. I'm seeing some sort of attack hovercraft speeding across the landscape, weapons pods open and ready (is that a weird image? I honestly don't know what's weird anymore...). Yeah, this was really energetic. Great work here.
That's a great image, might have to redo the album cover though! Love all the weird video clips that starts playing in my head from just the comments. Thanks!
Great mood-setter. Like a tiger pacing around a cage. Feels like it could easily explode into something bigger, but this pent-up energy will work really well as an album opener. (Looking forward to the album!)
I like that image. The following track in the album sequence is quite different (not so much tiger, more like a melancholic elephant) but might make a good contrast I think. Thanks for listening!
Yeah, if I'm hearing this as an intro I'm thinking oh, what am I in for on this ride? Which I think is what I'd want.. to pull the listener in.
That's a great effect if it works that way. Success! Thanks!
There's something really captivating in the rhythm of this. Very pushing and eager. Great guitar tones playing interesting things well layered together. A very intriguing intro, somehow cinematic sounding.
Good to hear, pushing and eager are qualities I'd like for an intro track. Thank you!
Some really nice harmonies in the different guitar parts here. I was on board with it being a fast, short album opener until the drums kicked in even more at 1:45 and then immediately wanted that section to stretch out way longer! Love those little rolls / ghost notes on the snare. Yeah, this could definitely turn into a post-rock epic if you wanted it to.
Haha, yes, I feel it's a bit undecided in if it wants to be shorter and more concentrated or flesh out into shameless prog/post-rock epicness. I'll listen to it some more and try to hear what it says. Thanks!
There’s a hint of prog rock in here at the start but with a post punk aesthetic. I love the melodic guitars ‘duelling’ about 50 seconds in. So much blistering energy and creativity. Really sets a distinctive mood.
Interesting that you hear prog rock in it, never thought of that. This one just kept on adding new layers to itself, maybe a little monotonous as it is, think it could be even tighter and concentrated as an intro track. Good to see you here!
Wow, this definitely sets a mood! Lots of fast-paced energy, and the right mix of repetition and 'messiness' or "all over the place"-ness, especially the last 15 seconds are going all out! This could work great for a race, because of the whole energy but also because the beginning sounds like revving engines. I like how it does something new every few seconds.
Race track music, fascinating! I Imagine really rusty cars crashing into each other. Can't hear the revving engines myself but that got me inspired to try to actually make a guitar sound like that. Glad you think the messiness and repetition work, thanks for listening!
This would be an epic opener! Good for playing as entrance music too. I like this a lot.
Good to hear, thanks!
Great rolling drum beat that sets a tense rhythm appropriate for an opening song. I like all the guitar tracks swirling around. Nice mix of chunky and spacey!
