gave away muh banjo
Liner Notes
I was inspired by @rocketgrrrl yesterday to write something sharing a little about my expat experience. So this is a little take on that theme, making some references to Brazil, and the longing that I could share this unique experience with others because beauty shared is joy worth more than the sum of its parts. #folk #acoustic #acousticonetake
Lyrics
Everyday as I wake up lonely oh I face the shadows on the wall window shines right on the table and I’m trying remember much at all
this is home this ripe papaya the richest flavors that I’ve known funny how what makes me saddest live in in happiness alone
I gave away my banjo bagged up most my clothes told my mother not to worry ride the river where it goes
past the polca paraguayas on the boats of corumba through stories of the onças crossing borders by a star
Everyday as I wake up older thank the shadows as they pass window moves across the floor now as the days go by too fast
this is home this ripe papaya the richest flavors that I’ve known funny how what makes me saddest that I live this happiness alone
so I gave away my banjo bagged up most my clothes told my mother not to worry ride the river where it goes
past the longing of toadas that carry gifts of kings to doorways of the poorfolks in the land where sunlight sings

Lovely. I can feel the railcar or the flatbed rattling under me; big mountains and bigger skies, always looking onward in that "better to travel in hope than to arrive" sort of way. Very nice job.
Love this. It reminds me of experiences I had when I was younger living in places far away from where I grew up. Hope you are able to find some people to make music and friends with.
