Conscious Sun

Liner Notes
Gee, it took me 4 days to get on the board!
My first few attempts were unfruitful, definitely out of practise with writing and recording of late. The chords came quick, but as usual the lyrics and melodic ideas weren't forthcoming.
I usually dabble in some kind of outer space themed exploration each FAWM, so maybe I'm getting it out early this year!
The lyrics are drawn from parapsychologist researcher Rupert Sheldrake's theory of the Sun perhaps being a conscious entity. Interesting fodder for those amused - https://www.sheldrake.org/files/pdfs/papers/Is_the_Sun_Conscious.pdf
For most of the science world that believe in mechanistic materialism, it doesn't sound plausible. But given many ancestors and civilizations worshipped the Sun and planets as Gods, perhaps it's worth a closer look.
Looking forward to catching up on some listening to all you lovely folks in the coming days.
Lyrics
A matter of energy and possibilities are swaying in the trees, and deep below the seas
A hard problem to solve, one for young and old, What we know so far might not be right,
A whole is is only whole with the sum of its parts, What if stars could alter states, of others in their path
From the fields within, travelling like the wind, The future just might hold, a truth from the past,
Conscious Sun will rise, To wake up the mind Look up to the skies, Who know’s what we’ll find
Far away in galaxies, reaching other entities, Patterns Push and pull, realizing what they wanna be Polarizing oscillations, solar bodies contemplating Using their polarities and breeching cosmic boundaries.
Systems guiding , pulsing through the time and space continuum, Riding waves of darkness, how in the universe could that be dumb? Reaching forces carry altered states in their proximity, Awareness might be more than what we could ever know or see
Conscious Sun will rise, To wake up the mind Look up to the skies, Who know’s what we’ll find

I'm in love with your drum programming.
The rap/sing section is smashing.
The arpy thing at the end glorious.
What a jam - and yes on my favorite topic- consciousness? Panpsychism? 🌞
Wow, wow, simply amazing!!! The guitars and synths and vocals are just soooo great in such a well written song, bravo!!
Ahh, the unmistakably impeccable jam vibes from Hanley. Really nice laid back jazzy vibe that reminds me of some Air stuff (Cherry Blossom Girl comes to mind). Love the part around 2 minutes, very cool indeed!
Delightful; the shifting tempo of the vocals, the lilting melody... just transporting. Perfect for a wet Wednesday in Glasgow! I am properly energised now.
Wow, this is a fantastic first song! What a wild scientific paper idea and definitely a great song to explore the theory with. Happy FAWM! Love the rhythm in the second verse.
GORGEOUS melody on the chorus there. It really supports those expansive vocal harmonies. It's a bit dreamy, a bit psychodaelic and totally chill from start to finish. Love your little texture additions to keep things interesting throughout - the double track vocal on the verse, the upbeat delivery of "far away in galaxies..." and the ARP that comes in towards the end. Really nice. This one's a keeper for sure.
I enjoyed the dreamy vibe to this. Fits perfectly with the topic at hand. It's fun to entertain the possibilities. Good delivery. It's all put together really well.
