Challenge: MADE-UP WORDS

Liner Notes

Awamu (All Words Are Made Up)

Not sure what tags to use. This one is most influenced by artists I'd struggle to categorize, like Penguin Café Orchestra, Mice Parade, maybe Mike Oldfield.

Great little orchestral thingy you got there. Now I'm off to see who Mice Parade is :)

This is a sub-genre I almost forgot existed. Listening to this was really inspiring, and I might try to make a trip-hop beat in this style. It's weird, but in a good way. I'd add some vocals on top just to round it off really nicely, but solid as is!

If anyone wants to add vocals or make a remix, I'm more than happy to collaborate!

Absolutely hear elements of Hergest Ridge era Oldfield and while I have not listened to PCO in years, this is in the same vein as I recall them, very nice pastoral imaginary chamber folk music

Thanks for the kind comment, and for naming the genre! #PastoralImaginaryChamberFolk

This could totally be the soundtrack for a trippy but sweet scene in a movie. I really dig how it got moodier and darker in the middle there.

@y6nh

I think that's the vibe I was going for. Success!

The jungle beat with the double reeds samples made my day. Not a combination you hear often!

Most of the sounds are from Tracktion Collective, except the drum, which is from Monster Ethnica. I flipped through the presets looking for some underused but pretty sounds, and here we are with woodwinds, hammered dulcimer and cello.
