Brand New Day

Brand New Day
It’s a brand new day, and I have to say How I feel now that the sun is shining Walking out the door, feel my spirits soar Looking to chase these blues away
Too many times I’ve been hoping You’ll call me on the phone But now I’m sick and tired of waiting Gonna find your chance has flown
As the cars pass by, and the people try To start to make their way into the city I just turn around, don’t know where I’m bound Seems my feet already know where they are going
Too many times I’ve been hoping You’ll call me on the phone But now I’m sick and tired of waiting Gonna find your chance has flown
Now I know it’s true, that we’re really through Guess I’m gonna have to change my ways Think I’ll take a chance, see if I can dance From dusk to dawn and throw off all my worries
Too many times I’ve been hoping You’ll call me on the phone But now I’m sick and tired of waiting Gonna find your chance has flown
Unless you ring and call me on the phone

Sad lyrics and jaunty music are always an intersesting juxtaposition. I get the impression of forced jollity in the cause of getting over a break up here. I'm left wondering if they are still waiting and how long they would wait for.
Seems like his head is saying one thing, but his heart is saying something quite different.
I really like how this shows a positive attitude in the face of disappointment - even when things don't go how we hope, there are always ways to find joy in the world around us. And even if we're hoping for something that may never happen, we can keep living our lives! The melody and your delivery of it really work with the lyrics, nicely done. :)
You kept me interested with the story. You have a really nice voice. Loved the tempo change at the end. I enjoyed this tune and am looking forward to hearing what you come up with next!
what pleasant song it sucks to be stood up but I get the impression that life just goes on
That first verse is so warm and comfortable, that it gives me all kinds of confidence that this singer is going to be able to transcend the disappointing You in the chorus. The See if I can dance verse delivers on that promise. There’s this arc of walking towards a new life but keeping the door open in case the old one calls. I like that you resist the temptation to have everything resolve all the way, just letting us see the possibility. Like the singer is trying it on for size.
