The One You Run To

Liner Notes
Kind of a sad song. I can see multiple ways to interpert the lyrics, but to me it is about future me looking back on time spent with friends no longer w/ us.
I want to do a version of this with more production, but I put this down just to get something. It's fun to play the chorus.
On the recording I threw in some 'alt chorus' words I was playing around with.
The bridge is rough. #acousticonetake #acoustic #folkrock
Lyrics
Verse 1: Our puzzle needs the pieces put together When we said I do, I thought it meant forever All the pain, that is dead and gone I cannot feel, no longer holding on.
Chorus: I hope you can feel it I cannot conceal it I just want to be the one (you always run to) When you can't stop crying I hope you keep on trying I just want to be the one (you always run to)
Verse 2: The puzzle is complete but some pieces are still left over I hate the days crying with no shoulder The heartbeat echoes the empty room Almost there and I'll see you again soon
Bridge: Life will change you in ways you will not comprehend One wrong choice doesn't mean you're at the end You can find a way to get through Build something new I'll never stop loving you

The sadness echoes within this song. The slightly more hopeful bridge still smacks of despair. The 'when we said I do' - strongly suggests this is about a failed marriage - if you were to take it out the song has a much wider meaning - and therefore a much wider appeal and audience potential - just a thought. nice work. :-)
The lyrics are so sad they made me cry.
i see why the chorus is fun to play - its SO good! happy FAWM
