This year im going off like a rocket 24x7 for the first 3 days. To get a get a head start as im away from home after that for all of February!

After the first few days i will be lyrics only, so please feel free to do collaborations!

Wrote many undocumented songs when i was younger and played a bit of guitar and keyboards. came back to playing guitars. mando, Banjo uke and keyboards awhile ago. i write songs first and foremost. i see myself as a songwriter who performs sometimes. i am part of many songwriter groups I did 56 songs in FAWM last year then did 50/90 and did 140. Put put my first full album a few months ago. second album complete and 2 EPs all due to be released. Will do an album from FAWM 2019 for sure. During the month i try to do at least 3 different things to normal. This time its 1. Write a rap song, 2, a rhyming song using the same rhyming sound all through. 3. Me and a ukukele nothing else. Hope to get them this time.

  • @musicsongwriter Mar 5

Thank you for your kind visit. Hope everything is fantastic for you.

  • @oddaustin  Mar 4

Hmm, might you be interested in banjoing about on some country songs I'm working on?

  • @itoarazi Mar 4

Wow. Thank you so much for brazening through the entirety of my page!! I'm glad you enjoyed what you heard. I'll be going through various albums throughout the next couple of weeks here, and yours is definitely atop the list, when I get a chance!

  • @oddaustin  Mar 4

Ah, that's understandable. How about the banjo?

  • @sapient  Mar 3

Ssshhh... Don't tell anyone. It sounds aces! 😁

  • @tamsnumber4  Mar 3

Thanks for commenting on my collab song "How Long", appreciate the listen!

  • @srcoops Mar 3

Glad you enjoyed Life Rage. Perhaps we can hook up next year. (I am hopeful that I will still be around at age 83)

  • @sapient  Mar 2

Hey, thanks for all the listens! I'll be over to visit yours soon... And yes, that Gordon does get everywhere... He lives two doors down from me! πŸ˜ƒ

  • @splittybooms  Mar 2

Thanks for the congrats on my 17. 50/90, nasoalmo, the skirmish group...that all helped me be ready for anything it feels.
But 40! While out and about!
    Hats off, man.

  • @bootlegger Mar 2

You have quite a nice writing style. Your lyrics are so vivid and you really put the listener in the shoes of the storyteller. I really enjoyed listening to your stuff this year. Nice work all around!

  • @phoenixash Mar 2

Hey my friend, I really like your stuff, you are able to explore different genres keeping your identity and giving it your stamp, which is a very strong talent trait for me. Great work on your songs!

  • @yam655 Mar 1

It was an odd year for me. Outside work and other projects ate up most of my time. The only way I managed to officially finish FAWM was that one of my projects had -- as a side-effect -- me improvising 100+ songs (which I did mostly over two days). I'm hoping next year is easier for me.

  • @tjeff  Mar 1

Thanks for the collab this year! May I have your permission to perform "This Dying Town" live? Let me know, also do you have an email or social media where I can contact you? Thx.

  • @billwhite51 Mar 1

thanks for promising to listen to the whole album in one sitting. thats the way it is intended to be heard, but very few do that any more. i just finished the march songladder, with your manniquin parade song, and will send you the code for a free download tomorrow..

  • @jwhanberry  Feb 26

  • @cindyrella  Feb 25

Thanks and too bad we can't trade some of our weather!

  • @matthew62  Feb 24

Thanks for the listen and kind comments regarding I Walk In Circles. Much appreciated.

  • @ustaknow Feb 21

πŸ˜€ thanks for having a listen at that, - it just sort of came, due to some headlines here (not sure if a big deal in AU). So, in the 1 in-a-mil chance someone "liked" it, - didn't really want it downloaded "easily", so to speak.

For me, Churchill saying that then, and for what's happening today, well, we never do learn, do we 😝 4000 years of history and can't pass on our educations to our children, - that, they all have to earn, again, and again... πŸ˜€

Oh, yes, you know I joke with you... I don't go near anything/animal that can kick my ashe. I'll feed a horse, won't ride it πŸ˜‰ well, in case it wants it's turn on me.

And you may be glad to know that here in NJ with have the "Jersey Devil" πŸ˜€ it's true. Old Folklore from the Pine Barrons, - from which I have family - Joisey Hillbillies. Someone went to the trouble of "constructing" a skeleton of it, - pretty good job too.

Hey, you need anymore useless information, you know where to find me!

  • @jwhanberry  Feb 21

  • @ustaknow Feb 21

Yeah..., "Pregnant Dove"... you-all saw an early draft when wrote it that morning on FaceBook. You, and Bill and maybe the two others there that are active, commented.

It is very interesting that no one recognised it, - actually got different reaction-response since musicated. Well, that IS what music, modulations do/does.

Anyway, my stuff feels like it's going in a new direction, - not that anyone should see that with me. But, my concern is, if I start "building" tracks, that may sound "organic", they do not sound that way 1v1g when then asked for/if asked for "in person". AND, people don't get "that", the why. Well, add two harmony backup singers and another parallel guitar and one playing chord-fragments, or the 5th as Chord to the root-chord, and it may then sound pretty good, "in person", but, not 1v1g.

I was watchin the Cheryl Crow release of last tour and the T. Swift acoustic part of her last stadium tour... "they" can do that, since if even sung acapella, their "fans" with *hear the whole song in their head, - what people do, - hear what they want 😝 Uno? πŸ˜€

Anyway... happy travels... and if you see a tazmanian devil, send me a picture if not to ugly... I'd love one of you hugging a kangaroo πŸ˜‰

I think now of my Austrian family asked, "oh, so where the kangaroo's are?" - no, no kanagroos in austria, just beer and sausage πŸ˜€

  • @fearlessflight2014  Feb 20

Ah! I see! That makes sense now, it’s just that the comment was on my soundboard not the song, so I missed the connection.

  • @fearlessflight2014  Feb 19

    β€˜Double Aussie’ ?

  • @angelinapowersuit Feb 17

Re: Poker Face, I am soooo glad to hear it, I guess it was worth doing a million vocal takes, haha. Thank you!!!!

  • @ahasuerus Feb 16

Sorry, stupid of me to guess that much from the song alone.

  • @matthew62  Feb 16

Thank you for your kind comments regarding Big Bad Wolf.

  • @wacha  Feb 15

Thank you for your kind words on "The Other Side"! I love working with @kraftec!

Thanks for taking time to listen and comment on Rock’n’Roll Song.

  • @misterd Feb 15

Thanks for listening to my song ' How to be free ' .Cheers mate !

  • @billwhite51 Feb 14

thanks for your comments on theres nothing up here i only thought it dark in the literal sense, that if you were floating in space, everything is so far apart that chances are you wouldnt run into anything. the voice i used for this old dead gy was inspired by actor walter brennan, who recorded some memorable tracks out......check him out ,

  • @acousticmaddie  Feb 14

Thanks for the kind words on my lyrics:)

  • @moonraccoon  Feb 14

LOL - I love that our FAWM 2018 song is NSFW πŸ˜€ I'm really glad you like Jolly Good Marshmallow.

  • @tjeff  Feb 14

Hey John, just posted This Dying Town.

  • @mikegtz  Feb 13

Hi there, nice to meet you here. Just listened to Memory for the Paranoid. Be back to check in again.

  • @marthie Feb 12

it's a long song, needs some work, has potential... Night Times are the Loneliest

  • @jwhanberry  Feb 11

  • @mmmmarcus Feb 11

Thank you so much for the comment on Carry Me Home! Wow you've managed a lot of tunes already this year!

  • @ustaknow Feb 10

You might like this little observation, well, just because, -- re: dogs πŸ˜€

I've known many, and really love'em. Ever notice how some really like certain things, and not others. So, kinda hard to communicate this, so don't read into it, but, - just from being very observant and ever vigilant - all the dogs that ever graced my home as a member, if I ever cracked a bottle of JD or etc., man, that scent hit them, and went to the other side of the room, -- couldn't stand it. They were not crazy to come sit while I sipped by the 'ole wood stove/fireplace.

Then, I'd have buddies who'd split a beer with their dog (really bad for the dog) and would have to make sure the empties -- were.

Ever wonder how I have such weird lyrics? Eh, 'cause I think about stuff like that, that most folks don't pay attention to; I tend to "see" everything going on in a room it seems. (My wife wonders if I was at a different party than she attended, and etc. πŸ˜€ ) Interesting, aye? Maybe not πŸ˜‰

A buddy had a large jumper (horse), and some "girl" cracks open her nail polish bottle (why?, right?, anyway...), -- nearly threw him, and the horse was like 50 ft away. That horse didn't like any "chemical" smell, or etc.

I guess some animals are smarter than others 😝

    So, derUgo πŸ˜€

  • @natalieedelson  Feb 10

Thanks for your kind words on my tune- looking forward to listening to yoursπŸ™ŒπŸΌ

  • @moonraccoon  Feb 10

Thanks for your compliment on "Betrayal" πŸ˜€

  • @jwhanberry  Feb 10

  • @ustaknow Feb 10

Really, only 2.11 songs per day? 😝

  • @dreamscuba  Feb 10

Thanks for the comments on "Flare Me Up". Much appreciated.

  • @timfatchen  Feb 10

We're cruising to Hobart the week after you. Not going to Melbourne, last time we did we got shipwrecked. Not publishing THAT song till after the cruise...

  • @angelinapowersuit Feb 10

Thank you for your comments on "Thought You Got. . .!" I don't know what time it is for you but it's after midnight here so it's a thrill to know someone is listening at this hour πŸ˜€ Good point about the organ. And I think that perhaps all I really want is to get into your head, haha. Which perhaps will be the subject of my next song πŸ˜‰

  • @tamsnumber4  Feb 10

Thanks for listening and commenting on my songs "Tempting Time" and "Vagrant Sea", I really appreciate it!!

  • @splittybooms  Feb 9

Hey I also wanted to say that your comment about listening to one of my tunes while chilling out in parts unknown sitting with your wife in front of your camper...well, that was awesome.
To know that someone was out there in the world just free and chilled with their honey and had my music on. That's the kind of thing I think is most important to me - people enjoying my music during their "in my own little world" moments. Its hard to explain, but just wanted let you know that comment made my day that day!

  • @alg123  Feb 8

Thanks for listening to my song and giving feedback! I am daunted and impressed in equal measure by your list of tunes. I look forward to listening.

  • @ustaknow Feb 6

Hey cool-one, thanks for taking time outta your trip and "stuff" to have a look at my krappe 😝 πŸ˜€

  • @billwhite51 Feb 6

your hit the nail on roses. i wrote it as a straight ountry song but on playback it bored me ,,so i upped the tempo and played rhythm with a pick, singing it with more of a springsteen than a merle haggard feel, which makes it sound deeper than it is.

  • @metalfoot  Feb 6

I don't always use weird/complex chords and chord structures. Just usually. LOL
I figured for the Fake It challenge it'd be more fair to use chords everyone would know.

  • @paulhenry  Feb 5

You left a kind comment on one of my songs, so I came over to listen to your stuff. And. . . .you're done? I hate you. It's February 4th where I live, and. . . .you're done. Geez.

  • @ustaknow Feb 4

What, only 14 on the 4th day? Geese man! Get to work...

-- Oh, I'll have to come back and maybe comment on groupings, the body of work. I don't think I'll be able to have a listen otherwise.

Hope you're trip is well and fun! (not business, or to project-y).

  • @haim  Feb 3

  • @elainedimasi  Feb 1

You stop in the lane. At least, you mean to.

Instead, you slide down the hill all the way to Whateley farm.

That is, to where the farm used to be! Now apparently occupied by a small, yellow-gray moon suspended in space.

To the east, the trees tremble, leaves fluttering around you. The earth shakes as the thuds of giant hooved feet grow ever closer...

If ONLY you'd been paying attention to whoever-that-was in the Devil's Hopyard just now!
