Skirmish: TIME TRAVEL! (@44nifty)Liner Notes
#folky #memories #harms What a fine prompt, and yes, who doesn't love time-travel? If you have already answered that question in the future, this could be for you...
Lyrics
Do you remember what we did next week Thinking back now, I was not myself You need to be careful with the friends you keep They'll mess with your head, disrupt your sleep
Some people remember before they were born I'm not convinced, I'm filled with scorn But I know for sure what we'll do next week And I have the answers to the questions you seek
But nobody trusts a timeshifter They only see a deadbeat drifter Part of the costume I wear People look right through me like I'm not even there
Secrets are locked in our heads Access restricted, we bury them instead Using just a part of our brain The more we fathom, we could go insane
I can't travel to the past, wouldn't really want to Timeshifting is better with forward momentum The past attracts too much venom Somethings are better left where they are

That's such a great first line. In fact, there are lots of gems here: "nobody trusts a timeshifter/they only see a deadbeat drifter," and "timeshifting is better with forward momentum/the past attracts too much venom" being two of my favorites. Love your gentle, introspective delivery.
This line just pops off the page:” But nobody trusts a timeshifter”. Love the storytelling.
I like all the details and slow pace in this great song!
I like the concept of a trusting time shifter and the analogy to a deadbeat drifter. I also like the focus on moving forward and the dangers of going back. I’m always impressed with the high quality of your music and amazed that you can crank out such wonderful songs so quickly!
