You stole my heart

Skirmish: THIEF (@jem)Liner Notes
Lyrics
They say I came like a thief in the night That’s not true, you know it’s not right I took your heart but there was no theft You took mine, now there’s nothing left
We were made to be together Like those cliched birds of a feather There was no robbery committed Before a jury of our peers we were acquitted
And so it’s time to drop the pretence The greetings cards that say you’re heaven sent It really is much simpler than that I love you like I love our cat
I think you stole much more than my heart It’s physically painful, when we’re apart I should have known it right from the start You are the one who took my heart

You did a fine job with this prompt! You can feel the tension in the lyrics in the best way possible
I like the folky angle in the music and lyrics. It works well to paint this picture using the well-known cultural touchpiunts.
Yeah it's a great upbeat pop song. Really like this line: "I love you like I love our cat"--and wonder how that will be received; e.g. I once told my wife she was like an incredible chocolate bar lying next to me, and she said "I don't like being compared to chocolate."
A perfect idea for the skirmish! Great harmonies and so relatable!
Oh so nice to have a happy non robbing song! And the whistling! I'm a big fan of that. The melody and harmonies are perfect for the lyric and well, anyone who loves their pet will know that "I love you like I love my cat" is a huge compliment and, I just have to add, because I'm an attorney, that "before a jury of our peers we were acquitted" is such a great follow to no robbery was committed. Well done take on my skirmish Gordon!
