Killer Circus vibe. Where is the cotton candy 🍬!
You have such a keen imagination! What, if anything, did you do to prepare for writing circus songs? The ones I’ve heard are quite engaging. Good work!
Thanks, man! I did more prep this time around (I've made calliope centric circus music in the past). I'm gonna pitch some of these tracks to a few APM libraries, so they need to have an A section and a B section where both progressively build. Then I pull the rug out around 1:30 and then progressively build the A section to a big finish. The way I went about keeping track was by creating SMPTE Timelocked markers as a basic guide that will fluctuate with any tempo. For production music, the tracks should be slice-able around :15, :30, :45, 1m, 1:15, 1:30, 1:45, and 2:00. Then, I created two track stacks. One that has every instrument of the calliope organ and the other has the "Circus Band" (so like the piccolo, clarinet, muted trumpet, trombone, tuba, etc.). Then I just let my imagination run wild! I don't often save templates, but this one I def kept and have used for the circus tracks I've posted this year. Thanks for listening, man!
Well, you definitely have a formula! And it most definitely works!
I like that there is some predictability, and understand that to be the case now with circus music (or at least how you compiled this song).
Very cool, man!!
This is brilliant. Cartoon shows would love this song. Like a twisted Krusty the Klown type deal. I like it.
YAY!!! That's def what I'm going for! Thx for listening!
The instrumentation on this is novel. I found myself delighted with your choice every new instrument.
My daughter walked in halfway and declared, "what in the Harry Potter is this?" I had more carnival or circus vibes from it. But a fun house creepy vibe that I love.
I LOVE THAT! Thanks so much for sharing your daughter's words with me. That put a big smile on my face! Thanks so much for listening :-)
I also get the carnival vibes on this and I think the instrumentation is very good. I could almost hear a Tom Waits growl coming in on this too... Nice!
