Lyrics
I do hate to burst your bubble But I think that you’re headed for trouble Trying to dig your way To the top I see the sweat on your forehead At six o’clock looking half dead This well-intended self-sacrifice Has to stop
Success is a ritual Let me give you the visual
Ten percent effort Ten percent effort Ten percent effort That’s the secret of success
They say you’ve got plans in the pipeline But what I have heard through the grapevine It takes all you’ve got just to show up Day after day
Of course you want to get there sooner But let me pass along a rumor On Easy Street This is what they say
Success is a ritual Let me give you the visual
Ten percent effort Ten percent effort Ten percent effort That’s the secret of success
I know you will protest But if you do what you do best The thing that no one else can do You will see what happens to you
It’s the thing you would do if you could It’s no trouble to make it look good When they ask you to do it The answer is yes
Ten percent effort Ten percent effort Ten percent effort That’s the secret of success
Ten percent effort Ten percent effort Ten percent effort That’s the secret of success
Ten percent effort Ten percent effort Ten percent effort That’s the secret of success

Very cool and catchy song. Brilliant take on the prompt.
I like the idea of digging your way to the top. Works on may levels. Good take on the 10% effort being the secret of success idea.
I like the hook- very catchy. The best enjoyment of this song comes from listening how you enjoy singing it!
As someone who has spent too many years trying too hard but never really getting anywhere this has put a nice perspective on what matters. The overall message of the bridge section, to give the effort to the unique thing that makes you you, is something so many of us ignore when we are trying to be what others want or expect us to be
