I started working on these lyrics using speech to text while walking through the forest at the beginning of the song sprint on Saturday morning. It just turned out it was the third one that I had recorded and ready to post. #acousticonetake #fuc #guywithukulele #folk

The mumble rumble of a diesel tractor ejects me from my sleep. The whispery breeze and birdsong, are replaced by backup beeps.
I wonder why at this hour I should have to be awake as each pound upon the ground makes the whole house shake.
Chorus I take a walk by the water. Listen to the trees. Feel the cool car-ess of the autumn breeze. Walk the trail beside a robin, dodging apples from above. Early morning by the water is the time I love
When cacophonous change sur-rounds me, I re-turn to the water where my soul is safe. Something about shore sounds ground me, a primordial heartbeat in the burbling of the waves.

I like the rhythm that this rolls forward. Not sure how to say it better, it feels like early morning by the water, the day is young, the mind is clear, it is time to get rolling.

Very evocative lyrics that, along with the music, transport you to a peaceful place. A nice listen for me late at night.

Nice example of minor chords, and m7 especially, being peaceful instead of sad. I'm glad you have a way of getting refreshed to counter the construction chaos.

You write about life's up and downs which we can alll relate to. Water does have a calming effect for sure.

I love the theme of this song about the restorative power of water. And the lyrics in the first verse are so perfectly apt for that situation!

simple uke and telling about a story about real life. I need to re-break out my ukelele while I am breaking out everything else (ha, ha). Enjoyed it, thanks for the pleasant tune.

Bahaha! That first verse is very relatable. I live in farm country too. Your chorus contains many of my favourite things about this time of year. The rhythm of the melody over the uke strumming is cheery and restful too. Lovely and fun!

The rude wake-ups are even more dramatic than farm country. We are temporarily staying out in our trailer for the month of September while they completely tear up and redo the street in front of our house. The seven o'clock begin of shift with the heavy equipment is pretty jarring.

Even without the loud noises, getting out in nature is so vital to our mental health. I like the idea of a robin beside you as you walk!
