The Grind

Staying in the prog vein for a bit. Completely out of character for me is the use of the Vintage B3 plugin in Logic as a placeholder since my wife was home all day and I didn't want to chase her away from the TV with the loud B-3 and Leslie (my studio is in front of the living room.) I can redo that later.
Since we're about 9 to 5 I decided to speak to that topic from an angle of needing to keep the daily grind from consuming you.
And yes...the "whoooaaahhh" thingy at the end was a total hat tip to Mr. Mister. 😀 Software: Logic Pro EZ Drummer 3 KeySolutions Sounds Traveler (all synth instances) Logic Vintage B3 Logic Mellotron Logic Studio Piano
Hardware: Peavey Frankenstrat Slick SL52 Tele G&L Tribute L-2500 five string bass Korg T3 (as MIDI controller) AT 4033SE microphone
Lyrics
Run yourself ragged Keepin’ up with Mr. Jones Exhausted and jaded The hustle can make you feel lost and alone
Held to a standard Unrealistic expectations abound Pull off the mask, slip into the cracks Disappear without a sound
We’re meant for more than just the grind Fetters and chains upon our minds Take a step backwards Breathe in the air, lift your heart to the sky
Regain your sense of delight Cannot be consumed by the grind
We do it too often Sacrifice ourselves to the golden calf of success Our lives upon their altar High priests of cash keep us under duress
But life still has meaning Despite 9 to 5 sucking the marrow of our souls dry The holiest act is regaining Our rightful place on the pathway of life
We’re meant for more than just the grind Fetters and chains upon our minds Take a step backwards Breathe in the air, lift your heart to the sky
Regain your sense of delight Cannot be consumed by the grind

Your music production is always top notch. Vocals are excellent. Love this!
This is so polished and with a great message. Your vocals are particularly strong.
yup the old drudge 9-5. lovely effect on the vocal makes it like a running stream! The prog runs deep here, reminds me of days of bands like Barclay James harvest! thats slower prog with front vocals! nice
loved this! Felt like great and classic prog. I especially enjoyed the key solo in the middle.
