notes

the second chorus feels like the best performance, especially on the word ghost, but these fawm never get the full treatment and rubber stamp. even threw a solo (it's insufferable but there is some charm there if i want to play with it) instead of a bridge, but i do think the song could house a killer bridge. i don't have time for that right this second. i do like this song though and will probably work on it in the future.

Lyrics

[c2] [v1] dm am garden of envy / stars strike a darkened sky

words fall down like the midnight moon

haunted by the whisper, of your voice tonight

sacred tears my heart does cry

[chorus] f e am fm further back somewhere lost there's a memory once called home f e am dm buried somewhere deep inside tangled in the undergrowth f e am fm maybe i've lost the plot, or i've gone someplace and died fm e am a ghost of who i am

[v2] forgotten / even my own my sacred name

your light, once hiding all my shame

your lips now pale cold gone

you meant more to me, than to myself i could love

[chorus]

[solo]

[chorus outro]

Love the sound and these images, Lee. And LOVE how you're working a bit lower in your register, gives even more weight and feeling to your voice. Really strong song.

Oh, man, Lee--you crushed this. The lyrics are devastating and I loved the performance. I think that reverbless, close to the mic intimacy on the vocal suited it perfectly. And the melody and chord progression delivered the sadness of the lyrics just right.

Excellent lyric delicately yet powerfully delivered. This could be anything! a real good one

I love the imagery in the lyrics! Haunting melody, so well performed. The solo definitely has good bones (and quite a bit of meat too I would say). I really enjoyed this!
