Love is for Fools

Liner Notes
I've been into the Cut-Up Method as popularized by William Burroughs, Kurt Cobain, David Bowie, and Thom Yorke. I pasted some Napoleon Hill, Bhagavad Gita, and Narnia into this website. I went through the weirdo phrases a picked out some that were particularly interesting.
I was struck by this "You wake in what you have". I made think about waking up in clothes from last night. Carrying something from the night before. This led to the first line of this song.
I used the Muse tools to generate a structure of Verse-Chorus-Verse-Chorus-Bridge-Chorus.
I borrowed some rhyme scheme from this site.
Music is forthcoming!
Lyrics
You wore out your welcome Then wear it to bed Each injury unsaid A silent rebellion
In the slanted morning You wake to the lie Remember the signs And ignore the warning
The riddle you have spun Courting disaster Plunge in the dagger And you call it good fun
If loneliness is our birthright And it is all that we carry What difference does it make To be cruel? Lust is for the living And love is for fools
When defeat takes over And waterworks start Batten down your heart Until she is sober
A bouquet of roses A diamond necklace Crossed off the checklist Will never expose this
When loneliness is our birthright And it is all that we carry What difference does it make To be cruel? Lust is for the living And love is for fools
Love is left on the cutting room floor In some Hollywood basement Love is lacing what is pure With Fentanyl for a bigger score Love is sold by corporations To keep us craving more
If loneliness is our birthright And it is all that we carry What difference does it make To be cruel? Lust is for the living And love is for fools
