First song of the Five-Nine sprint incoming!
My intention is to try and do 5 very different songs, different from one another and different from what I'd normally do - not sure if I'll manage that with all 5, but I've definitely achieved it with this one!
I've been rooting around in Roland Cloud, I'm not currently subscribed, so these are just sounds from their free libraries, I found a good Indian library with some interesting instruments, which took some wrangling because they aren't sounds or rhythms I'm used to. But for a first go, I think it came out ok. I wanted to add more really, but I was dragging in instruments not from the "correct" genre, even though they sounded ok, I held back.
Used to make this track: Reaper DAW Roland Cloud Zenology Santoor, Sitar, Tanpura Male Native Instruments Tanpura Heavyocity Vocalise for the vocals

I have to admire your nerve (and skill!) in tackling something that's distant from your norm. For my western ears, you've done a fantastic job. The melody is great and you've honoured the genre.
Ooh! It would seem the Curry House Massive has landed in a new home. This is terrific! And SO different compared to your previous compositions. Different? Definitely. Superb? Oh yes.
Love this one a lot. That breadown around 1:15 builds great tension heading back into the fuller arrangement. This sounds so good man!
Sounds great! Cool mix, great pacing. I keep imagining that scene from rocky horror when dr. Scott is in the zen room. All the vocalizations and use of space in the mix are wonderful!
You've done remarkably well for tackling a new area of music to you. I'm looking forward to hearing what else you come up with.
