Lyrics
You say that Daisy left home before she was grown And I know that you still miss her We were the same age once, how could we have known The teenage years go by in a blur
And I know you’re not happy about her company But maybe it’s just a phase she’s going through We should be happy that she’s found somebody She’s an adult now, there’s not a lot we can do
It’s so hard when they leave the nest Convinced that they know best A long time since we’ve had any rest Sleepless dealing with the stress
And the visits are getting further apart At first she said she’d come every week Now a lways excuses, things to be done And she’s trying to find her feet
All we can do is worry and wait And hope that it all works out Not much we can do, it’s all down to fate Remember, darling it’s never too late
For Daisy, she’ll come home I think of Daisy, and how she’s grown

Looking back, yet forward - perfect pace. A meditative quality to it. Lyrically it's easy to identify with.
Nice lyric. I remember some of those times next will be grandkids doing it! Really nice song
The contemplative pacing works well for this subject. I like the sort of major-minor alteration of the chords. This feels tender and relatable.
