Lyrics
I finally got it The thing I’ve been waiting for Don’t ask me what it is No one can know not yet
They had it in stock Right there in the back of the store And when I get where I’m going I’m telling you I’ll be set
This secret Has to stay with me And if you knew what it was You would agree
But there’s a crow Looking at me Looking in my bag Why is there a crow Looking at me Looking in my bag
I should just relax No one is looking my way We’re never the big scene That we think we are
But if they asked I would not know what to say And if they all came my way I would not get very far
Why do I feel So conspicuous This is almost Ridiculous
But there’s a crow Looking at me Looking in my bag Why is there a crow Looking at me Looking in my bag
If it was something normal Just another bag of chips No one would wonder No would even look around
When there’s a secret Everyone wants in on it Everyone wants the tea When the chips are down
That’s why I have to Get up and go When there’s something at stake Everyone wants to know
And there’s a crow Looking at me Looking in my bag Why is there a crow Looking at me Looking in my bag
I don’t want you to know Looking at me Looking in my bag Why is there a crow Looking at me Looking in my bag

Grief is a thing with feathers. Like a crow!
A crow!? That is certainly not something I could have anticipated. The image is funny and disturbing at the same time. You nailed that feeling that you are center-stage when no one really cares.
This crow is a friend of Edgar Allan Poe. It definitely knows too much!
