Excess Baggage

#skirmish #bagpipes #world #instrumental #oddinstrument #funereal So, I've never really enjoyed bagpipes - seems they're always a little out of tune (yes, I know - "just" intonation, etc) and I think they play them at funerals only because the dead can't object. And it's so hard to find other instruments that play well in ensemble. Percussion and #glockenspiel maybe. Anyway, kudos to anyone who listens beyond 10 seconds!

😆 Thanks for bringing the pipes! That’s a pretty convincing sound, and a relaxed, or at least patient, feel as bagpipes go. Very nice!
Hey, you'd best ignore my feedback because I'm one of those people who love the reviled instruments of the world - accordion, recorder, pipes, banjo and I play the uke, for goodness sake. I listened right through, I might have struggled if it had been a loop but the changes in direction you take made me think of a slow march through the misty highlands. Seriously good stuff. Also made me think of Hour of the Pig, one of my all time favourite films.Hopefully you'll view it differently a couple of weeks down the line. All I can say is more bagpipes, perhaps a punk song?
Ha, I've got kudos :) Listened to the whole song, not just beyond 10 seconds. How many kudos, out of curiosity? Hehe. I love your sound, I can imagine it in a movie, it should be a comedy where people are appearing with the instruments near the water during the wedding and the whole attention is held on them instead of a bride and a groom. Fun to listen to your music, you've done a great job!
HAH, love that someone took the bagpipe direction. Idk, I understand but can't join your bagpipe dislike - if you're looking for the sound of bagpipes, there is almost literally nothing on this Earth that comes close (I guess maybe an accordion? But it's also so different). For a bagpipe hater, you've made a piece that really works for it - I dig it. Gotta listen to some of your music composed for stuff you like.
This is so awesome! It gives off Isekai vibes into a fantasy world, where the protagonist enters a tavern or goes to an Adventure Guild to register for work. I'm a huge fan of Medieval sounds, and this was amazing! Keep up the good work!
