Gold silver or bronze

Skirmish: Gold, Silver, Bronze (@corinnecurcio)Liner Notes
A very literal take on the prompt. I believe the Winter Olympics end today. So...
Lyrics
Gold silver or bronze The medal tables are kept And we watch from our sofas Some of us have barely slept
First second or third Enough just to compete Many have trained for years Elite of the world’s athletes
And we see something more than sports A metaphor for life We listen to the reports Decide who we want to adore
Gold silver or bronze Not everyone is a winner Not even us on our sofas Who rue what might have been
Gold silver or bronze Gold silver and bronze That’s all there is

I really like your thoughtful couch spectator perspective on the prompt. It is cool how certain athletes and their stories are highlighted and you phrased it so well "we decide who we want to adore". You also highlighted the reality of only 3 positions that truly matter, and how hard it is - and even on the couch thinking about the concept of winning in life. It has a melancholy introspective kind of feel to it. Your melody is so captivating and memorable. Gold, silver or bronze each come with a story in our minds - those little words are loaded with meaning. Beautiful playing and singing - love your vocals and I really enjoyed your song. Great skirmish!
Nicely done! I'm hearing some conflict, or maybe resignation about separating the winners from "losers" (who trained for years...). Gold, silver, or bronze...is that all there is? Superb vocals and production; super skirmish!
Beautiful take on the skirmish prompt! Lovely vocals and guitar! Your lyrics are quite poignant and a little sad at the state of existence that sets up such systems. This part hits especially hard,
Not everyone is a winner Not even us on our sofas
Indeed! I especially love how you sing those last three lines and that final message! Great skirmishing!!!
"We see something more than sports/ a metaphor for life" is a nice line. True of many large sporting events, but all the more for the Olympics. I love the tone of this song.
Another winning song I say Gold!!!
This is a lovely nod to the Olympic athletes and all of us on couches who live vicariously cheering on those who excel. Lovely music!
