Skirmish: Fall on your knees (@acousticmaddie)Liner Notes
A quick one, for starters. Interesting prompt!
Lyrics
You don’t have to fall on your knees You don’t need to lower yourself Everyone here is equal Genuflection is a sign of weakness
We don’t live in the middle ages We can think for ourselves We don’t respect the people in power Just because they have more money than us And we have none
You don’t have to fall on your knees You don’t need to be weak Solidarity is the strength that we seek That’s when society is at its peak
And we will begin to realise That respect is earned not owed To fall on your knees for mercy Is just the feudal system reinforced
You don’t have to fall on your knees You don’t have to fall on your knees Cos everyone is equal

"respect is earned not owed". I'd like to see this as a headline on the news. Good track.
Wonderful message and delivery. Love the plucking in the second stanza. Your production is great for 30 minutes! Well done skirmish.
Great message here. Lovely guitar-work as well.
Aaaw such a Wonderful sentiment in this one. I love where the prompt took you. Thanks for playing
I love your take on this and the perspective you bring…. A contrast to the direction I went. I love how the phrase “fall on your knees” can be taken different ways. Love the sparse guitar and great melody.
The alternating between muted and non muted notes really moves the song along like a stream through the woods. The messaging in this is vital in these times.
Also, I LOVE your voice!
I love the kinda ska thing going on and absolutely respect is earned not owed!! You don’t have to fall on your knees, Cause Everyone is equal. Great skirmish
