Calima

Liner Notes
Written while on Holiday in Tenerife. A floating song about trying to relax when first arriving on holiday, leaving work and stress behind.
Calima is a weather event in which dust from Africa crosses the ocean and covers the Canary Islands in a fine, dry haze of sand. It's not pleasant to breathe.
The production has AI vocals, and the piano is done in Logic, as are some of the strings. All lyrics, melodies and arrangements are human.
This one took some time and is not prefect.
Lyrics
[Verse 1] Rocks float in the heat Bare foot in the street The dust in the wind, Yearning for rain to begin
[pre] Sand it falls, From my hand Blowing across, This volcanic land
[Chorus] Calima Calima Calima African dust Calima Calima Calima Travel lust
[Verse 2] Standing out on the beach Always out of reach. A day, at it's worst, Please quench this thirst
[pre 2] In the morning, The pinkest of cloud, Stands away From the crowd
[Chorus] Calima Calima Calima African dust Calima Calima Calima Travel lust
[Middle 8] An unusual high Is asking me why, The driest of haze Of Exceptional days I would gather my thoughts But none can be found The cost of my hunger Is less by the pound.
[Chorus] Calima Calima Calima African dust Calima Calima Calima Travel lust

Lovely, lovely. I wasn't familiar with "Calima," so I appreciated the education. I'm still thinking about: "the cost of my hunger is less by the pound."
