Durango Harness Boots

Liner Notes
#countryfolk #harmonica #bluesy Earlier in the month I had written and posted a song called "Frye Boots" after seeing some social media post with a young person chasing '70's fashion (some of which, back in the day, I used to wear). Thought I'd continue the theme, this time focusing on me and what I was feeling with a pair of boots that I recently got. Turns out I had more to say then I thought I had, including some things about my own health and life changes. Four verses plus a bridge. I had cut a quick guitar-vocal only demo on my phone, but thought this deserved more, so I gave it the full treatment- acoustic guitar, vocal, bass, harmonica, cajon (percussion). Curious if it resonates at all....let me know what you think! Im kind of happy with at least the recording...
Lyrics
Bought some Durango Harness boots, like the Frye boots I used to live in Put them on and for a minute I was 17 again Funny how a little leather can wake the kid you’ve been Makes you stand a little taller leaning into the wind
Im not riding into Tuscon, just walking thru town No horse tied up behind me, just the subway rumbling down Still something in that leather, makes the morning newly found Like something in me’s still a little more unbound
Thought I’d feel self-conscious, the years had put on weight Figured denim and leather, might not cooperate But thanks to science and Big Pharma, I’m in a thinner newer state Now those Durango boots and me, walk with my old teenage gate (well, sometimes)
Not exactly the gait I used to have, my knees still have their say They file their little objections, at the end of the day But somewhere in that rhythm, there’s something back at play With a little more focus, I’m finding my way
They’re brown, not black, Johnny Cash can rest easy I’m not chasing any ghosts, just feeling kind of breezy
Bought some Durango Harness boots, like the Frye boots I used to live in Put them on and for a minute, I was 17 again.

thanks!
its a nice lyric - a good follow to the other one! i particularly like" Funny how a little leather can wake the kid you’ve been Makes you stand a little taller leaning into the wind" harmonica plus 1. I like the slow paced delivery, this is a good one Mike
Well done. I enjoyed this a lot
That is some on fire harmonica! Love this cool, blusey sound. That "Big Phrama" line just made me laugh. I certainly identify with this 'getting older' theme. Thoroughly enjoyable tune!
