Dream of the fisherman's daughter

afp: I'd barely touched my guitars and bass this FAWM, so I cracked them out for this one. What materialised, if not a massive my bloody valentine rip-off, was a massive rip-off of one of the many bands who have ripped off my bloody valentine over the years. Still - fun to strum with a tremolo arm isn't it?
Once I'd put together the instrumental I couldn't really think of a vocal, so I threw it the way of excellent musician and person @owl who I also had the pleasure of meeting last year. I've enjoyed her music for a long time, so it was nice to finally collaborate! She recorded some excellent vocals quick-sharp which resulted in my favourite FAWM thing (an email of stems waiting for you when you wake up in the morning). I added some vox and re-jigged the song structure. Pretty much a 24-hour turnaround for a transatlantic collab ain't bad at all. Thanks @owl!
Lyrics
I dream of the fisherman's daughter Salt smell clings to the humid walls Sweat and breath and damp skin and all She dreams, like she always dreams, of water
She dreams, like she always dreams, Of diving under a limestone doorway blue as a summer's day
Clouds and stars melt away Plankton glow like the Milky Way When she breathes the bubbles rise Towards the idea of a distant sky Darkness moves like a lullaby And she dreams, like she always dreams, of water And she dreams, like she always dreams, of water And she dreams, like she always dreams
wonderfully layered harmonies and cranberries-purity vibes. the guitars are dripping with… I don’t know the technical term, but I’m gonna go with “fun”
