Sir John Lubbock's Buttocks
Liner Notes

Day 13 Late August Bank HolidayIn my research for this song, I discovered my new hero -https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Lubbock,_1st_Baron_Avebury - not only was he a cool Victorian (I didn't think there were any) his name also rhymes with 'Buttocks' (nearly)! Bllcks would work as well in the lyric but it's not as much fun singing that word over and over like I do with the other B word!
Oh, I thought I had written a through-composed song in 2 and a half minutes; but being an incompetent punk, I got it wrong, losing track of the many rules of that technique. Section 1 remerges in sections 4 & 5, but I thought playing them at different times and with different accents would count. It doesn't!
However this may the favourite song I've ever written; so I look forward to running small-bang into a wall of total indifference as usually happens to my songs that I really like!

Lyrics
While it’s very tempting on the last Monday in August To organise a drunken picnic from lunch to sundown With your friends, In Burgess Park, the minimum of fuss Wish away your Summer as the last day, it runs down
Self satisfied by your free day Sat there on your buttocks Never once do you think About Sir John Lubbock
MP for the Liberal party When they were anti-Tory Before they became synonymous With fey and wishy-washy
Did loads for the urchins In those dark Victorian times Supported introduction of Elementary education
Also was the mastermind Behind bank holidays act A total mensch with mental strength, A big ass bro, that’s fact
Have you seen the buttocks On that there sir John Lubbock? Victorians thought he was a weirdo In reality. a tight-bunned hero And probably BFFs With Sir William Gladstone There just was not enough Room upon his headstone
Better tug your forelock to The memory of Sir John Lubbock To his timeless bravery And his massive buttocks
Sadly, it was not all cool Like many of the English Rich The thought of Irish home rule made his buttocks twitch
Ah well, you can't have it all On a plate
I can see why you like this song so much, it’s a total romp! I like it too, there’s a jaunty snark to it that I tend to be drawn to. That fuzz vocal adds a sharp edge over the instrumentation. Also, any excuse to sing the word “buttocks” is a good one.
