On The Run

Liner Notes
I heard these words (in my head) from @crisp1 as an electronic deep house afro house ambient tune. As ever @crisp1 had completely different intention for the but often that works out for a good outcome.
I think it worked out well and definitely sound very melodramatic and moody.
@jacobeverettwallace has done an alternate version https://fawm.org/songs/325538
Personally I love to hear different artist's take on the same words
Doug (crisp1): David, you really are a master composer and producer! It's true this isn't how I heard the song at all, but you've done a fantastic job giving it the sound you heard. The vocals are terrific. It really is wild how different artists can come up with something so different based on the same words. Thanks for another great collab!
Lyrics
[Verse] Trouble always found me So I went looking instead And don’t you think some people Are better off… Dead hand of the past Refusing to let me loose The time came when I acted To slip on out of that noose
[Chorus] I know why I did What I done I know why I did What I done Now I’ll be forever On the run
[Verse] Trouble might keep looking Ain’t gonna find me this time Suitcase full of dollars I’ll be fine Gone where no one knows me A train to the other coast Made sure my old self turned Invisible as a ghost
[Bridge] I won’t give up my freedom Won’t work on no chain gang Won’t be locked in prison And I don’t want to hang

Thank you
Your liner notes had me wondering where these words would have brought me... it would not have brought me here, but I gotta say, I'm glad it's where it brought you. The driving music, with the longer drawn out melody of the vocal works great here. It all sounds so interesting together. And, fine singing.
Thanks
What a cool collab Its so interesting when two such different thoughts mash up to something cool. Great production
