I'm Movin' On

Challenge: MIXED EMOTIONSLiner Notes
I'm a teacher and I'm grappling with maybe changing schools at the end of this school year. The vocal hook of this one started as a happy/sad thought as I was walking to my classroom a few days ago. Moving on from a person/place/thing/thought/feeling is scary stuff.

Lyrics
These times Will brake your bones Stories like Hammer blows
Used to feel Like this was home But now it’s time Im moving on
Started in a finger And now its the hand Restless feeling To touch new lands
Down through my feet To the tips of the toes Can’t wait to see where I go
Now if you feel Like there’s no bigger fish And you're running out of copper to wish
Tie up yourself A bindle of so long And like the prodigal son Get moving on
I’m moving on

You've perfectly channeled the slow-burning, trepidatious mood with that 6-8 signature and the deep guitar reverb. And the melody really does invoke a 60's british-invasion ballad.
Change is unsettling, especially when you're tasked with navigating that change quickly and competently enough to helm a room full of impressionable human sponges. Good on you for having what it takes to be a teacher. I don't think I'd have the bravery to work with students younger than 20.
Really like the imagery of restlessness seeping in from the extremities (fingers, toes) until it's time to do something about it.
This has a very unique sound compared to most other things I’ve heard this month. Well done! I like your choices, fun song!
