#acoustic #singersongwriter #acousticonetake #folk This one took me about an hour and 15 minutes to write. I was ready to record, but my Dog decided he wasn't going to wait for me. So I just got back from taking him on a walk and got it recorded. This one almost wrote itself... I didn't have time to overthink it!

The mouse

Well she whispered to herself, like there was someone else there, what she said was quite inconsequential But perhaps the dog heard, every soft spoken word and reacted as if elemental

Then the cat in the room, always looking for action, was taken off guard by this minor distraction.

And the mouse lives on it’s his lucky day And the mouse lives long He seems to like it that way

Well she hung up the phone, looking over by the stairs, what she saw was quite inconsequential There he stood in the room self envisioning his doom, and he froze, far too scared to tremble

Then the cat in the room, always looking for action, was taken off guard by a minor distraction.

I love this, everything works out for the mouse! I really like how the chorus ends up 'he seems to like it that way', that seems to tie it all together. Such a great take on the prompt, well done!
