Parasocially Yours
Liner Notes
A commentary on our society's obsession with celebrity.
Lyrics
Verse One:
I’ve memorized your smile by heart I see it coming before you start I know your coffee order, too Your favorite books, your points of view I hang on everything you say Your presence brightens every day
Chorus:
I know that we’re a perfect match I know that you could not forget me I know our love would always last If only you had ever met me
Verse Two:
My friends all roll their eyes at me But they can’t see the things I see They see your picture on a screen But I know truly what you mean I follow all your social feeds You’re everything my spirit needs
[repeat chorus]
Bridge:
I know the schedule of your flights Refresh the feed until you land It keeps me going through the nights Like I’m waiting there to hold your hand I alone know what you’re worth My love for you is dark and deep I’ve seen your house on Google Earth I just like knowing where you sleep
[repeat chorus]
Comments
Wow, great lyric- an incisive exploration of that whole celebrity worship- well done!
hahaha this is a good concept. "I've seen your house on Google Earth, I just like knowing where you sleep" made me laugh.
It’s sweet and creepy like “Every Breath You Take”. I love it!
