Down On The Eighth Floor
by @gazebo
Liner Notes
This was an attempt to come up with a super-quick song using only my Yamaha mini keyboard. The vocals are a first time attempt and I forgot the structure whislt singing, but think it's all the better for that!
Written and recorded in under 1 hour.
Lyrics
DOWN ON THE EIGHTH FLOOR
Looking out on the clouds Freestyle with the hands you hold Looking into the distance Well, the lights are bright but it's always cold And I don't mean to be deceitful But it's hard to tell the truth And I never want to hurt you But it's never what it seems to be
CHORUS And I find myself Down on the eighth floor And it's always summer Down on the eighth floor
Trying to figure it out What's easy and what was never meant If I had my time I would shine a light on the heaven sent And I don't mean to sound delirious But its hard to stay awake And I never meant to hurt you But its never what it seems to be
CHORUS And I find myself Down on the eighth floor And it's always summer Down on the eighth floor

This is a fun hopping little bop. You've made the 8th floor seem very attractive. I'll have to go check out the summer vibes on the 8th floor of the office at work tomorrow.
You've set the scene well focusing on the hoped-for enchantment of the 8th. Descending chords work well here.
