Rose-Colored Glasses
by @jacobwakeup
Liner Notes
something something #nostalgia. The opening line was inspired by Frank Turner's "Untainted Love." From there it turned into whatever it became. I was trying really hard not to be as wordy as my last few submissions and just get to the chorus as fast as I could. #newwave #earworm
Lyrics
I don't miss being young, I just miss being dumb. And not knowing what really makes the world go round and round. They say ignorance is bliss, I know it's gotta be better than this. Just be sure you're honest when you reminisce.
Looking back with rose-colored glasses. Before you had to think about doctor's bills or taxes. The world wasn't any different, you just didn't know better. Looking back with rose-colored glasses.
I don't mean to be hopeless, I just need to be honest. I just hate knowing what really makes the world go round and round.
Rose-colored glasses. Rose-colored glasses. Rose-colored glasses. Rose-colored glasses.

Thank you for listening!
You had me at "Frank Turner." Then you hooked me with that 80s sound! This is probably the catchiest song I'm going to hear all day. I can't stop dancing. And then I realize that the lyrics are getting at something true and meaningful about what nostalgia does (and doesn't) do. The fact that you are invoking a nostalgic sound while doing so is spot on! Now excuse me while I go off and sing that chorus a few hundred times!
You are much too kind! The work I'm proudest of is the work that gets people out of their seat or singing along. Thanks for listening and for the feedback.
That melodic rock riff that opens the track is catchy as hell, I dig the post-punk influence throughout this
